About Carol Williams, The Photographer:

I was born in the United States in the year nineteen hundred and forty eight in Troy , New York . Most of my adult life has been spent living in the Unadilla Valley of New York State.

As long as I can remember, I have been comfortable working and playing in nature, with a desire to photograph what I was experiencing in my life. I was not sure what I was going to do with all of these photos but I kept taking them anyway. As a result, I have gained a knowledge or skill of photography that has become an important piece in my work as a Spiritual Photo Journalist.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation and Community Arts with photography as a strong interest. For many years, I worked as the Director of an Outdoor Center and as a School Age Child Care Director. I also worked with the emigrant population as a career counselor and interestingly enough in the Prison system as a career counselor and a horticulture instructor.

My husband and I have been living in the Wilmington area for the last 3 years. It is here that my life's work has become clearer to me. My experiences of being and working within nature was being created one moment at a time.

As my level of spirituality has developed, I have learned to listen to my inner voice. I pay attention to these urges and decide what it is that I have been guided to do. Much to my surprise, before I left New York I realized that writing had found its way into my life. As a result, I may be guided to express how I feel about a sunset or sunrise through writing and photography. On the other hand, I might be working in my garden and see some insects that I have never noticed before and I know I am to photograph them. I could be driving and notice something unusual or breathtaking in a simple yet magnificent beauty and I know I am to write what it is I am feeling.

I have found that understanding the how or why I am guided to write or photograph is unimportant for me to understand at this time and the reason will be revealed to me when I need to realize this. Until than I will continue to journal the beautiful riches that God has created for us through my photography and writing. The jewels of this work I will share through workshops that will bring light and love into your heart.

Plants, animals and minerals speak to me of their goodness and beauty. I perceive their beautiful souls that they so willingly portray and share them with others through photographs and writing. The Divine Spirit of the universe spoke to me and said, “With your photos and words share this healing energy this beautiful grace and wonder of each, plant, tree, rock and divine drop of dew.”
